Fabric pairings for a master bedroom project

Since there have been a bunch of requests for me to show more fabric pairings, I thought it would be fun to show a peek of a master bedroom I’ve been working on that is almost finished.  This room is traditional, neutral, subtly-beachy with just the perfect amount of color and pattern.  The walls are a blue-green grasscloth and the fabrics pick up that tone and also mix in taupey mushroom and coral.

Here is the combination we used.  We mixed in two Schumacher’s ikat/tribal prints and balanced them out with some geometrics, solids and a wee bit of zebra.

The window bench has most of the fun fabrics, but we also repeat them for bed pillows, a bench and chair pillow as well.

Can’t wait to finish so I can show you the whole space!  We’re just a little stuck on bedding.  We can’t seem to find the perfect neutral duvet.  We are thinking either textured or just creamy with hotel piping.  Do you guys have any favorites?  I’d much prefer a blanket to a duvet, but you have to pick and choose your battles ;)

Those fabrics are just lovely!!! I love all of the pattern play. Sigh, I prefer duvet covers myself as well and I also prefer a nice stark white one though I do like piping. Good luck in your search.....and don't rule out some of the "chain" department stores such as Bloomingdales or Neimans you can find some great bedding options.

XOXO,
Whitney

I love the restoration hardware hotel bedding, I used it in our guest bedroom. And I like the idea of it in a room with so much texture!

We tried Restoration- none of the colors were right- but that's the look we are going for. Thanks for the suggestion, Alex.

Do they have pets or kids? If so I vote for textured. It hides a lot more sins... plus it looks good even if you don't iron it.

I really really think you are gifted at mixing prints. You should continue to let this aspect of your design shine as your particular skill. You are cracking me up that this is 'neutral'. Is it? Maybe it's the instagram haze, but this seems fun, funky, vibrant and bold...not neutral! Maybe it's your neutral, oh bright one. :-)

I'd go for textured to hide wrinkles and dirt from kids or pets, but not sure if they have to worry about it. You know I have the hardest time picking bedding! I need to see this grasscloth too!

Hi Naomi. I know that ebay used to have lots of hotel style bedding from different manufacturers. Might be worth a try. Looking great!

haha @Lauren- So it's not a sea-of-beige neutral room, but the overall feel is very soothing. Maybe I should have called it "soothing" instead of neutral.

I'm crazy for the blue grasscloth and insane collection of prints. I need to get rich and hire you, lady!

I'm positive that this is your gift to the world, being able to take a bunch of different patterns that no one else would ever dream up together and make them fabulous. (c:

Love the mix of patterns! Are they black and white with that pop of red? You know I love them neutrals with a little kick! Can't wait to see the rest!

Ha I'm a genius just re-read the description...so a muted version of aqua and coral with neutrals? So so pretty.

I love the look of hotel duvets, but let's be honest they don't look like that at home, or at least mine, bc I'm not ironing them. :)
